Home. A place of refuge. A space that is uniquely yours and helps you become the best version of yourself. A feeling, not a physical construct. A relationship we have with the space we live within.
I love a cozy farmhouse-styled house, that is practical and intentional. But what really makes it home for me is the sound of my children laughing and playing, my dogs cuddling up with us at night, the smell of soul food cooking, and bright, sunny windows where I can see the trees and animals all around us. While it is more than a physical place, you create the feeling of “home” in a space–and you decide what you want it to feel like.
I enjoy rearranging my decor, taking on diys, and thoughtfully planning for how to use a space. I enjoy the pretty and the messy side of it all. (Let’s be real, no one’s home is magazine worthy all the time.) And whether or not your home is at its best or at its worst, as long as it is a place filled with love and life, it’s perfect.
So here is where I share with you what I’ve done to the interior of my house to give it that cozy and hygge vibe that I crave:

We decided to DIY our entryway, and it was a quick and affordable project that added so much functionality to our home. Welcome An entryway is more than where you store your shoes and outerwear. However, it is also the space in your home where you initially welcome your family and friends—a place everyone sees.…

At Christmas, Give Me Oranges and I’ll Make Garland
O Come, Let Us Adore Dried Orange slices I adore dried orange slices. They bring such natural texture and fragrance to garland, the tree, or filling decorative jars or bowls around the house. Despite how pretty I’d always thought it was, I never have made my own, until this year! I heard so many amazing…
